Art wakes us up. It broadens our vision by asking questions of us and of the world, allowing us to see and understand in ways we never could before. Habit deadens us to the world around us; art focuses and highlights, allowing us to see the world with fresh eyes. Art is a bridge. It brings people together and communicates to them uniquely. Artists tell the story of our culture, through paintings that reflect its appearance, through novels that relate the lives of its people, through music that captures its soul. God is Creator. God is the first Artist as Creator of a world that is endlessly diverse and beautiful, and he made us to reflect his image, to create beautiful things of our own. Art is praise for the God who created all things. Christian art allow us to see again the Kingdom of God alive in the world, and alive in us; it turns our feet toward home.
