The mission of SBCC is to be a community of believers looking upward to God, growing inward in Christ, and moving outward by the Spirit for the glory of God.
Santa Barbara Community Church is a non-denominational church dedicated to following and serving Jesus Christ as both Savior and Lord. We welcome your participation in our community. Please see our Doctrinal Statement for more information. Fill out the “Connect” card to help us get to know you.
We gather each Sunday* at 8:45am, 11:00am, and 4:00pm for celebration in worship, the study of God’s Word, the taking of the Lord’s Supper and fellowship. Come a few minutes early to stop by our “Welcome” table and to make sure you get a seat. (When our children periodically join the adults in the main service it can fill up!)
*Be sure to check our weekly Announcements for any special or changed service times which may occur around holidays or during our annual church retreat in April.
Check for information and details about the many areas of ministry we offer under the “Ministries” tab. A few areas of ministry are listed below. Pick up a brochure at the Welcome Table that describes them, as well.
Children’s & Youth Ministries
Services for children are available during each Sunday service. Please visit the Children or Youth pages for more information, and stop by the Children’s Ministries information table before a service for help. Contact Donna Sugano or Holly Casady during the week.
Children (Infant-4th grade) – We provide childcare for infants and toddlers, and children’s ministries activities at all three services including Children’s church, game time and Sunday school for preschool to 4th grade.
Youth (5th-12th grade) – Youth Ministries of Santa Barbara Community Church exist to help students to cultivate a love for God, for His Word, for His church, and for His world in order that they might be conformed into the image of Christ. Youth group occurs on many, but not all Sundays at the 11am service. For a current schedule, contact Erik Anderson.
Santa Barbara Community Church encourages participation in homegroups. Homegroups gather one night a week (usually Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) for worship, prayer, Bible study, sharing and fellowship. These groups involve some preparation and follow a discussion format. Interested? Sign up here!
We have an annual Santa Barbara Community Church retreat each spring for the entire church. In addition to this weekend away, we occasional hold a women’s retreat and a men’s retreat. The youth (4th grade through high school) go to summer camp at Forest Home and there are various shorter road trips during the year. Winter Forest Home camp is also available for the 5th-12th graders. Read more.
We believe God calls all of his children to be ministers (Ephesians 4:11-12). Our ministry is both to other believers and the world at large. Those in the church should be built up, encouraged, cared for and challenged. As this takes place the strengthened church turns her focus upon the world in the areas of evangelism and social concern.
Therefore, members of Santa Barbara Community Church are encouraged to participate in ministries inside and outside of the church. Visit our missions page to learn more about this area of church life.

Who and what is Santa Barbara Community Church? What is the primary goal of SBCC? Why do we exist? What do we believe? What are our doctrinal convictions? What is expected of SBCC’s members? Who qualifies to be a member of SBCC? How do we understand the local church? What is our history as a church? How is SBCC governed? What do we do with our money? What is our understanding of ministry?
These and a host of other questions are answered in a class we call, simply, Foundations. These classes are held periodically and all who are interested in Santa Barbara Community Church and/or are desiring to be members of this church are encouraged to come. Generally these classes are on Sundays after the 11:00am service. Watch the Announcements for upcoming classes.
