Praxis… our every other Friday morning gathering, continues on Friday, January 24.  We begin at 6:30am but coffee and donuts are available at 6:15; we are done by 7:45am.

Homegroups: Signups are now open for spring homegroups! Homegroups meet weekly for prayer, connections, and Bible study along with the sermon series. The spring session runs from the week of January 19th until May. Sign up today to get connected with a group near you! Signups are online at sbcommunity.org/homegroups. Open House at Coastline Christian Academy – Jan. 23rd:  Are you prayerfully considering where God wants your children to attend school next fall? Coastline Christian Academy’s mission is to partner with believing parents to raise their kids to know Jesus while providing the highest standards of academic instruction. Coastline invites parents exploring K – 8th grade to attend an upcoming Open House on January 23, from 8:00-10:00am.  No reservation necessary. Awareness and Action – Trafficking in California and what we can do about it: Jan. 25th: Visiting speaker Susan Patterson and local detective Josh Cockrell will present on how trafficking looks in California (including our county), types of trafficking, signs to recognize, and ideas of how to make a difference. It will be held on Saturday January 25th at Community Covenant Church (5070 Cathedral Oaks Rd) from 7:00-8:30 pm. Parent discretion is advised due to content, though teenagers are welcome. The event is free, with a donation opportunity for local ant-trafficking efforts.

SB Missions Conference – Friday, Jan 31st & Saturday, Feb 1st… at First Presbyterian Church.  This year’s keynote speakers are Father Greg Boyle of Homeboy Industries who works with those in the gang culture of L.A. and Kara Powell who gives leadership to the Fuller Youth Institute.  To register or for more info go to sbmissionconference.org.

Childcare Needed During Parenting Seminar – Feb. 1st: Are you looking for a way to bless the families of our church? Alpha Starts Feb. 23rd at 6:00pm on Sunday evenings at Santa Barbara Community Church: Alpha is a series of talks exploring the Christian faith. Typically run over ten weeks, each session explores a different question of faith that inspires conversation in small groups. GriefShare: ome find help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend through GriefShare, a network of 15,000+ churches worldwide equipped to offer grief support. We want to encourage you in faithful giving in 2020! There are a number of ways to give financially to SBCC:

  • Giving Boxes are available in the church entryway for checks and cash;
  • checks can be mailed to SBCC at 1002 Cieneguitas Rd, SB 93110;
  • the SBCC app can be downloaded to a smart device featuring a simple “Give” button;
  • texting “sbcommunity” to 77977 can easily start the process for e-giving;
  • giving can be submitted through the “Give” tab at www.sbcommunity.com/give.
