About The Farm
Find us on facebook (The Farm SBCC) and ‘like’ us for updates.
Down at the farm, our crops are thriving and we harvest regularly. We’ve had great crop turn-outs so far. We grow lettuce and kale, squash and green beans, cucumbers, pumpkins, melons, four varieties of tomatoes, bell peppers, and corn to name a few of our crops. Farm produce is distributed to the kitchens of the Casa Esperanza shelter, the Rescue Mission, Catholic Charities, the Isla Vista Food Distribution, the Garden Court Retirement Center and the El Calvario distribution center.
They have been extremely grateful for all of the produce donations. It has been a real blessing to be able to give the first-fruits of the farm directly (and freshly) to those less fortunate. We hope to be able to incorporate as many individuals and homegroups as possible to be a part of the weekly farm tasks, such as planting, weeding, composting, mulching, and irrigation work.
Directions to The Farm
For small volunteer groups or individual volunteers…
Drive up Cieneguitas Road as if going to Santa Barbara Community Church.
Turn left onto Calle Caridad – the road that runs below the parking lot across the street from the church.
Calle Caridad dead-ends at The Farm.
For large events… Please DO NOT park at The Farm. Park in the lot across from the church and use the trail to walk down to The Farm.
