The Responsibilities of Worship
It is the responsibility of worship leaders at SBCC to write or find songs that are good both musically and lyrically- that is, songs that stir the heart with the truths of the gospel. It is the responsibility of the church to sing these songs whole-heartedly with both mind and heart engaged in the worship of God, so that even when they don’t perfectly reflect the expression of our hearts, the songs will leave their impression on us.
Recent Sunday Worship Music
Curious about the worship music from Sunday services? The playlists below represent versions of the songs we’ve sung on recent Sundays. Playlists are created in Spotify.
The church has produced several worship albums which are available for purchase. All proceeds benefit the International Justice Mission.
Recently Introduced Worship Songs
Our own Joel Patterson has written a wonderful song that we’ve been learning recently called You Are Glorious. Like the song of Moses found in Exodus 15, it leads us to marvel at our glorious God and ask, “Who is like you, O Lord?” You can email Mike for a chord chart for this song and can hear a live version below:
I Shall Not Want is one new song we’ve been learning. It is a prayer that God would deliver us from our sinful tendencies so that we can taste and experience the goodness of God. You can email Mike for a chord chart for this song and can hear a live version below. I Shall Not Want is from worshiptogether.com songs and can be seen on YouTube.
