Stay In the Loop about College Ministry at SBCC: Create or update your Community Connect profile. Praxis – Oct 19th: We’ve got a great series scheduled for the next few months called “A Man and His Work.” Come learn about and discuss how our work and Christian faith fit together! There is donuts and coffee at 6:15am. We officially begin at 6:30 and finish promptly at 7:45am.
Men’s Work Project – Oct 13th: We are having another work day at Hope Refuge on Saturday, October 13 (8am-4pm) to try and help them ready their facility so that they can care for girls who have been trafficked in our area. If you have carpentry skills, they could be put to good use as we try to put one last roof on a dorm. If you are unskilled but want to lend a hand, there will be plenty to do! Lunch will be provided. Women’s Retreat – Feb. 1st-3rd: Registration is open! The retreat will be in Cambria, at the Cambria Pines Lodge, and we are looking forward to a great weekend of worship, fun, relaxation, and fellowship. Lodging is in shared rooms with meals included. Homegroup Study Guides: Our homegroup study guide for this year is Mark For Everyone by N.T. Wright. Copies are available for $6 on the table in the entryway. Homegroup members only please, as we have a limited number of copies.
Homegroup Worship Leaders! We have new and updated song packets available! Both chorded and lyrics-only copies are available. Please email *protected email* with the number of packets you would like and come by the Community Room to pick yours up Oct. 7th and 21st. James will also be there after both morning services to answer any worship leadership related questions you may have.

Photo Opportunity for Community Connect – Oct. 14th: Community Connect serves, in part, as our church contact and photo directory. It is also a way for group leaders and members to see who each other are – especially important in our Children’s and Youth ministries! Register to Vote – Oct. 14th: If you recently turned 18 or moved to a new location, be sure your voter registration is up-to-date. There will be a voter registration table on the patio before the 8:45 service as well as between the two morning services.

ISI MINISTRY – Welcome a New Foreign Student with Dinner! Nearly 160 new international students signed up for the International Friendship Program to have dinner in an American home. ISI is in need of 20 more families to have 1-2 students over for a one-time dinner to welcome them to Santa Barbara. Financial Peace University – Jan. 7th: We will be starting up another Financial Peace University on Mon., Jan 7th at 7:00pm at SBCC. The first night is a free preview. This 9-week course meets on Monday nights and is all about how to get out of debt, saving for emergencies, retirement, college, insurance, mortgages and giving – all from a biblical perspective. Course is around $109 and includes workbook, online resources, audio & video access to all lessons for a year and all meeting materials. Questions? Sunday Facilities Assistant: Assist with set-up, support and clean-up of Sunday afternoon services. This includes, opening the church, resetting Sunday School classrooms to weekday configurations (involves moving tables and chairs), getting Sanctuary and Communion ready for the service, making coffee, cleaning up after services. Ideal candidate would be able to sub for morning assistant occasionally and would be available during the Summer (although not a “deal breaker.”) 2:30-7pm, $12/hour.
