StoryNight Summer Edition is on Aug. 27th at 7pm: Come for an evening of fellowship, music, food and an opportunity to hear one woman’s story. Enjoy appetizers outdoors as the sun sets, then head inside to hear from our own Lesley Miller. Plenty of row seating available to bring guests. Gathering Registration is Open! The Gathering is a collection of women’s small groups meeting together to learn from God’s word, and share in each others’ lives. We meet Monday nights 7-8:30pm or Thursday mornings 9:30-11:30am beginning the week of 9/10/2018. We will be studying the Book of Revelation for both the fall and spring sessions. This book, while deeply intriguing and sometimes mystifying, offers one of the clearest and sharpest visions of God’s ultimate purpose and future hope that we can hold on to as we go through hard times. Womens’ Retreat – Save the Date! The Women’s Retreat will be on February 1-3, 2019 at the Cambria Pines Lodge. Registration coming in October.
Homegroups SignUps – Aug. 19th: We are gearing up for the fall season of homegroups and are excited to begin our study of the Book of Mark. The fall session begins the week of September 9th and runs through December. Groups meet weekly in many locations from Carpinteria to Goleta. Most are multigenerational, although there are some age-specific groups, too. Signups begin August 19th. Questions? Homegroup Study Guides – Aug. 19th: Our homegroup study guide for this year is Mark For Everyone by N.T. Wright. Copies will be available for $6 beginning August 19th on the patio. Homegroup members only please, as we have a limited number of copies.
NEW Homegroup Leaders – Aug. 26th: Core Leader Training for all new homegroup leaders is scheduled for Sunday, August 26th, 12:45-2:45 in the Community Room. Lunch will be provided.

Divorce Care – Aug 26th: If you are experiencing the emotional trauma of separation/divorce, you can find relief through Divorce Care, a 13-week support group. It is designed to help you understand what you’re going through and how to heal so that you will make decisions you won’t regret. Through the videos, discussions and workbook God can show you how to move forward. This workshop begins Sunday, August 26th, 2pm in the Living Room. Brave Hearts Confronting the Wounds of Sexual Abuse -begins Sept. 24th: This group will meet every other Monday evening through May and work through Dan Allender’s book, The Wounded Heart: Hope for Adult Victims of Childhood Sexual Abuse. This is a confidential covenant group of Santa Barbara Community Church women who, with regards to child or adolescent sexual abuse, listen to and love one another and point each other to Christ, the true healer. If you are interested in more information about taking this step to help address your experience of sexual abuse, or in considering whether this group is right for you, please contact Alison McWilliams (805) 450-2515, Rebecca Johnson (760) 963-4852, or Susi Lamoutte (805) 698-3127.
