Mission & Goal
My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. – Colossians 2:2
Our aim is to connect women for mutual encouragement and growth in faith. Join us in Bible study, and in events and activities as we gather to deepen our relationship with Jesus and with each other.
Our bi-annual StoryNight is an evening of fellowship, fun, music, food and a story! For more information, click HERE.
The Gathering is a collective of women’s Bible study groups which meet on the SBCC campus throughout the year. Study topics change each term. Women gather together for large group worship and fellowship, and then break out into small group Bible studies. For more information, to learn about the Gathering, visit the Gathering webpage or contact Joanne Herdrich.
Women’s Discipleship Group on Issues of Sexual Abuse
The Women’s Discipleship Group is a Christ-centered covenant fellowship for women who have experienced the deep and painful wounds of sexual abuse. Through discussion, prayer and encouragement, women explore how these experiences have affected their view of themselves, and their relationships with God and others. Dan Allender’s book, The Wounded Heart, and its accompanying workbook, are used for personal growth and group discussion. Group members will journey together on paths toward healing. Groups are held in a safe, confidential locations and are closed and limited in size. Groups are specifically a discipleship group and not intended to replace professional counseling. For more information, please contact Alison McWilliams or Rebecca Johnson.
Goleta MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets at Santa Barbara Community Church on alternate Fridays throughout the school year. If interested in being involved, or in helping out, please email Goleta MOPS.
The word “mentoring” can sound ominously weighty, but we care deeply about the privilege and responsibility of discipleship. Please read an article about what we believe, in women’s ministries, to be one of our greatest priorities as Christian women. If you would like to be involved in a mentoring/discipleship relationship, please fill out this information sheet, return to Joanne Herdrich, and then contact Maja Greig, or Lisa Jolley.
