Women's Ministries

Mission & Goal
My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:2

Our aim is to connect women for mutual encouragement and growth in faith.  Join us in Bible study, and in events and activities as we gather to deepen our relationship with Jesus and with each other.

SUMMER OPTIONS!  As the Gathering takes a break for the summer, please join us for some other fun options:

Summer Women's Bible Study:  Tuesday evenings, 7-9 pm, 6/19-8/21 in the C.E. building.  Join us as we study Believing God, by Beth Moore.  Based on Isaiah 43:10, this study explores what it means not only "to believe in God" but "to believe Him." By studying the lives of Abraham, Moses, and others as examples of persons who believed God, we will be encouraged to deepen our own trust in God. Sign up HERE, or contact Marsi Richardson.

Book Group for Single Women:  If you are single (whether never married, or divorced) we'll be discussing an excellent book by Tim Keller, titled The Meaning of Marriage. This book group will be a safe place to discuss openly our expectations with respect to marriage -- in light of the gospel, and in light of the complicated world in which we live. We will be meeting three times (possibly having dinner together??), location tba.  The dates are all Monday evenings, 7-9 pm: 6/11, 7/16 and 8/20.  Pull in a friend and sign up HERE.  For more info, contact Bonnie Fearer.

The Gathering (Women's Bible Study)
What is it? On Monday evenings and Thursday mornings from September through May, a collection of women’s small groups meet to worship, learn from God’s word, and share in each others’ lives.  Our corporate time contains worship and teaching, and then we break into our small groups.  Childcare is provided for the Thursday morning group. For more information about future Gathering meetings, contact Bonnie Fearer.  Download The Gathering information booklet HERE.

Working Moms' Group The juggling act of working and raising children is more the norm than the exception these days.  Join us monthly as come together to pray, and to hear from other working moms.  For more information, contact Rachel Winslow or Angela D'Amour.

Mentoring  The word "mentoring" can sound ominously weighty, but we care deeply about the privilege and responsibility of discipleship.  Click HERE to read an article about what we believe, in women's ministries, to be one of our greatest priorities as Christian women.  If you would like to be involved in a mentoring/discipleship relationship, please fill out this information sheet, return to Bonnie Fearer, and then contact Maja Greig, Lisa Jolley, or Bonnie Fearer

MOPS  Goleta MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets at Santa Barbara Community Church on alternate Fridays throughout the school year.  For more information, please contact Krista Knoles.

Past StoryNight Recordings
Hear one woman's story and be encouraged in your faith.  Some of our past speakers are archived here for you to enjoy.  You can also pick up CDs in the church entryway for some of our speakers in case you've missed one or want to send one to a friend. You can also send this link to someone you think might want to hear a particular woman's story.
